Omschrijving

Anna is an open-minded teacher at a small-town high school in Transylvania. When the father of one student discovers that she suggested her students watch the film Total Eclipse, which explores the relationship between poets Rimbaud and Verlaine, an absurd scandal begins to unfold. In her debut film Without Air, Katalin Moldovai invites viewers to explore the conservative and intolerant environment of small-town society. This bold psychological drama, featuring solid direction and a strong performance by lead actress Agnes Krasznahorkai, makes a powerful statement on the current situation in Hungary. Set within the microcosm of a school, the story illustrates on a small scale where intolerance and the absence of reason can lead. The film had its world premiere at the Toronto IFF and has won awards at numerous international film festivals.
